DREAMLAND
In 2005 I wrote, directed and produced an indie film called
DREAMLAND. It told the story of an amusement park in
Greenville, SC that was open from the 1920's to the 1940's.
It was owned and operated by the Floyd Family. This special
place meant alot to members of "The Greatest Generation"
who spent their youth there during the Great Depression
and World War II. The story of DREAMLAND is one of
love, hope and devotion. I also wrote and recorded a
song cycle based on the DREAMLAND story. It is a story
worthy of such heartfelt efforts.
Here is the Dreamland Film split into 4 parts.

TRACKING DEMOS
I RECORDED SOME INSTRUMENTAL
DEMOS OF SOME NEW SONGS
PLAYING ALL THE INSTRUMENTS.
WANT TO GET THE FULL BAND
DOING THESE SOON..
SEE YOU ON THE FLIP
LET THE CURTAIN CLOSE
SEE YOU ON THE FLIP, TIME TO RUN
GRIP THE WHEEL, WALK IN THE SUN
TURN LEFT AT THE CORNER
SEEING STARS
NO MORE BARS
FORGET THE SCARS
SEE YOU ON THE FLIP
LIVING IN THE MOMENT, THAT'S ALL I GOT
FROM 0 TO 60, IN 3 SECONDS TOP
HIGHWAY IS GLISTENING,
DIAMOND IN THE SAND
GIVE ME YOUR HAND
IT'S AT YOUR COMMAND
SEE YOU ON THE FLIP
IF YOU'RE THE KING OF NOTHING, YOUR RAIN WILL STING
AND YOUR PRAYERS, WON'T MEAN A THING
YOUR ONLY SERVANT
IS YOUR OWN IGNORANCE
DON'T SIT ON THE FENCE
MAKE SOME CHANGE WITH YOUR SENSE
SEE YOU ON THE FLIP
SEE YOU ON THE FLIP, IT'S RAGING OUTSIDE
YOU GOT NOWHERE TO RUN, NOWHERE TO HIDE
TURN LEFT AT THE CORNER
SEEING GHOSTS
MAKE THE MOST
SKIP THE ROAST
SEE YOU ON THE FLIP
SEE YOU ON THE FLIP

WITH ALL MY HEART, I GIVE UNTO YOU
ALL I AM AND EVER WILL BE
WITH ALL MY SOUL, I WILL BE TRUE
NO TORTURED COURSE IN FRONT OF ME
STORMS MAY COME AND GO
LET THE MYSTERY RIVER FLOW
LET THE CURTAIN CLOSE
LET THE CURTAIN CLOSE
IN THE FOREST DEEP
WHERE THE ANGELS SLEEP
LET THE CURTAIN CLOSE
LET THE CURTAIN CLOSE
UP ON THE HILL, SEE THE VALLEY BELOW
HOW IT SHINES IN ITS GHOSTLY GLOW
THINGS MAY LOOK SO BAD TODAY
BUT IT'S NOT ALWAYS GONNA BE THAT WAY
REPEAT CHORUS
LOVE IS LIKE A WILL-O-WISP
IT'S A PHANTOM FIRM IN YOUR GRIP
HOLD IT CLOSE, DON'T LET GO
LET IT BURN THEN LET IT GROW
REPEAT CHORUS
LET THE CURTAIN CLOSE

The Living Heart of NYC
The Living Heart of New York City
She bore down on her work to finish by five
The flush of spring cast in her young eyes
The heartless days spent on the killing floor
She was just 16 but her face spoke so much more.
Her frail hands: the needle pulled the thread
The foreman shouts rattle in her head
She dreams the dreams of the dispossessed
Her time is fleeting, she doesn't know just yet.
The cling and din of the trolley cars below
The short expanse of that open window
The doors are locked to keep out the violators
Those reckless fools, those labor agitators.
A fire it seems to have broken out
She hears the cries, she fears the shouts
The sweatshop gloom breaks into flames
That light this place of forgotten names.
In panic flood, she fights for her place
In that mad clatter, in that ghostly race
No way out: the rush to flee
On the street below, people gather to see.
On the window ledge like an angel she stands
And with her friends they all hold hands
And pray to God their souls to take
Such a choice no one should ever have to make
Time stands still in mid-flight
The city fades into the dying of the light
The masses cry out in a sad embrace
No one there will ever forget this place.
In the Triangle Shirt Waist Factory
Girls from Poland, Girls from Italy
Gave their lives for nothing, for everything
For the living heart of New York City remembering...
THE LIVING HEART OF NEW YORK CITY

IN THE SKY
IN THE FACE OF THE CLOUDS
IN THE BYE AND BYE
IN THE LONELY CROWDS
ON THE HEARTSTRINGS
ON THE DEPTHS OF MEANING
ON YOUR DADDY'S KNEE
OH HOW TIME IS FLEETING
TO LIVE IS TO DIE
AND TO DIE IS TO LIVE
DON'T ASK WHY
GIVE ALL YOU CAN GIVE.
FOR ALL YOU NEED
FOR THE PRAYERS SO RENDERED
NOTHING'S GUARANTEED
HIDE YOUR MIDDLE FINGER
BY THE RIVER DEEP
BY THE SMOKEY SEDUCTIVE SEA
BY THE GATES OF SLEEP
BY THE THINGS YOU'LL NEVER BE
(REPEAT CHORUS)
FEEL THE HEATED BREEZE
FEEL THE SUN SO SERENE IN THE MORNING
FEEL THE EARTH ON YOUR KNEES
FEEL ALL THAT COMES WITH NO WARNING
TOUCH THE FACE OF A CHILD
TOUCH THE PULSE OF TIME THROUGH
TOUCH THE SANDS RUNNING WILD
TOUCH ALL THAT YOU ONCE KNEW
(REPEAT CHORUS)

The night air: cool like a pistol
The dim light fades: so subliminal
It’s all so meaningful..yeah
A filter pass on my cigarette
I love the things time forgets
I wonder where they all went
It’s a film noir, it’s the road ahead
It’s a 40’s call from my femme fatale instead
Dial cedar 55671
Dial cedar 55671
Jealous moon don’t scare my stars away
You’re so cold : ancient anyway
It doesn't matter what I say
In my room, there’s a place
John sings: Brian’s spaced
And madness is erased..yeah
Repeat
Like a top, you spin in flight
Its another: restless night
You got it now...you got it right
On TCM Bogart wakes
In black and white, by the gate
I want Lauren Bacall and Veronica Lake…
Repeat
